Face Lit letters, or front illuminated signs, are used to create an extra eye-catching look to your signage. This is especially effective as it gets dark in the evening or at night.
Read moreUsually front lit letters are often built up into a channel with aluminium, stainless steel or acrylic. Thereafter, the lettering is then faced with a translucent material, usually acrylic, that is illuminated by cost-effective, low-voltage LEDs.
Also the built up illuminated lettering can either be rimless or have a narrow rim around the edge. This is called a rim and return letter or sign. Rimless or rim and return is a personal preference or it can depend on the size, rims are safer for larger letters.
Alternatively translucent acrylic can be pushed through a fret cut sign tray and lit from behind to light up the face of the letters or logos.
As well as a choice of letter styles, face lit letters can be produced in a variety of colours utilising coloured translucent acrylic or white opal acrylic with translucent vinyl applied.
In addition to acrylic colour options, face lit letters can be illuminated with coloured LEDs or can even be RGB colour changing. This allows the LEDs to be programmed to illuminate the letters with different colours at various times or simply change colours through all the colours of a rainbow.
