Built Up Letters

The most common way for built up letters to be made is from a metal channel which is usually made by cutting a flat sheet of aluminium into the shape of the letter and then the sides of the channel made from aluminium strips welded on to create the returns. Often LED illumination is housed within the channel, which either can illuminate the letter through a translucent material at the front for ‘face illumination’ or from the rear to create ‘halo illumination’ or both if required.

Sign letters can also be built up from a block of your chosen material to create solid block 3D letters often from thick acrylic sheet with LEDs at the rear to make LED block acrylic letters. Or even from sign grade polystyrene for lightweight 3D letters.

The built up letters are often mounted to a sign tray in a contrasting colour to create a durable and high quality eye-catching sign often for shop fascias or commercial buildings.
