Harrods Window Lightboxes
Lightboxes are a window on the World
Double sided large window lightboxes were displayed in the front windows of Harrods, the biggest department store in Europe, to celebrate the UK launch of Discover Hong Kong Year with a glittering ceremony at the world-famous upmarket department store in Knightsbridge, London.
Officiating at the launch were Hong Kong’s Chief Executive and Hong Kong Tourism Board Chairman as well as the Lord Mayor of Westminster and Harrods Chairman at the time, Mr Mohamed Al Fayed. Together they performed the switch-on ceremony of Harrods’ famous festive lighting.
At the centre of the festive lighting, an 11 metre double sided light box, accompanied by a smaller 5 metre wall mounted light box both supplied and fitted by W&Co, in partnership with Protean Design, including the large format backlit graphics.
The large window lightboxes were supplied in smaller, equal sections for ease of transportation. Once on site, the sections were constructed and electrically wired up together; then fitted with the pre-printed graphics and fixed in place. The overall effect was incredible with the double sided light boxes creating an amazingly impressive and colourful graphic display to both customers inside the shop and on the street.
Harrods Estates Foyer Light Boxes
Harrods also came to W&Co looking for a light box to illuminate the Harrods Estates building foyer. With the help of W&Co, Harrods decided on a custom sized Flex Face light box powder-coated in black. Their artwork was printed on to a flexible PVC skin, which was then stretched across the 2 metre square light box. Harrods were very pleased with the result and felt that the light box really fitted into their prestigious office.
