Fabric Faced Light Boxes Charm Thomas Sabo
W&Co’s tension fabric faced light boxes were chosen by Thomas Sabo, renowned for its high-quality and special design silver jewellery, for displaying in their new retail stores including Meadow Hall Shopping Centre in Sheffield and and Manchester’s Trafford Centre.
Driven by continuing success Thomas Sabo decided to set up its own retail outlets during the late 90’s. In rapid succession, exclusive stores, shops-in-shops and sales agencies were established in many countries throughout Europe, Asia and America.
Before calling upon the expertise of W&Co, Thomas Sabo had installed large format light boxes with acrylic panels that bowed and flexed under the weight of the acrylic causing the backlit printed graphic to ripple and look untidy – we advised that the fabric faced graphics would eliminate these problems with the added advantage of a completely frameless display that can be produced in one piece to much larger sizes than traditional acrylic faced light boxes.
The other major benefit is that the fabric faced light box allows the print to be easily changed from the front using the specially designed silicone edging so that store staff can update the graphics themselves in a matter of seconds with no need for any specialist tools or installation teams.
At Meadowhall a 2m x 1m frameless light box was fully recessed in-between jewellery display cabinets to give a clean design finish with full focus on the colourful fabric printed graphic. Thomas Sabo who pride themselves on attention to detail, quality and keeping up with design trends are looking to continue using the fabric faced light box system and Manchester’s Trafford Centre store was next in line, soon to be followed by other stores in the pipeline.
Thomas Sabo Fabric Faced Lightboxes at House of Fraser
Subsequently W&Co installed more LED fabric faced light boxes for Thomas Sabo at their new concession in House of Fraser at Westfield White City in Shepherd’s Bush, London.
These new illuminated displays had the aluminium profiles specially coated with a custom chrome finish to co-ordinate with other fittings to create a very prestigious look.
High quality dye-sublimation printed backlit fabric graphics were supplied with the light boxes to show the brand’s high resolution images to best effect. The light boxes themselves were large format, being made up to 3m x 2m, and contained 5220 individual LED lights.
LED illuminated light boxes are ideal in this environment as the store staff will be working in close proximity to the units and fluorescent tube alternatives can give off heat making them uncomfortable to stand directly next to for a long period of time.
W&Co arranged the installation of the light boxes outside of store opening hours to avoid any disruption to customers and staff and are sure that Thomas Sabo’s illuminated graphics will now attract the attention of shoppers browsing within the bustling department store.
