Project Description
CARAT* Retail Display Lightboxes
Lightboxes put a Sparkle on Jewellery Stores
Luxury fashion jeweller CARAT* London, who has several stand alone shops and concessions in department stores, was on a mission to swap their dated shop displays for eye-catching retail display lightboxes in an effort to stay current. This is in-keeping with their mission statement; to be beautiful, affordable and relevant.
Starting with CARAT*’s jewellery concession in Fenwick, Brent Cross, W&Co was asked to supply and install several tension fabric retail light boxes to replace their old printed PVC panel displays on a pillar. As well as this, custom signage was requested to go above the light boxes on each face of the column.
Following the success of the concession at Fenwick, CARAT*’s Area Manager commented that, “The final product looks amazing!” They also expressed how they were “really happy” with the results. W&Co was subsequently invited to survey three of their standalone stores in Central London for replacement illuminated retail displays and installation at Canary Wharf, Covent Garden and Burlington Arcade in Mayfair.
At the Canary Wharf store CARAT* required a large light box which was installed at the back of the store on a blank wall to brighten the area and make use of the empty space.
The Covent Garden store had two tall and thin light boxes which were situated in an empty space close to the window so the illuminated posters would be seen by passers-by coming from either direction during all hours of the day.
Similar to the shop displays at Covent Garden, Burlington Arcade also had retail lightboxes in the window, however, these were freestanding to sit on the top of display cabinets and were double sided so that customers inside the store could view the displays too.
Since the completion of Canary Wharf, Covent Garden and Burlington Arcade by W&Co’s in-house installation team there was a new requirement for several wall-mounted light boxes at CARAT*’s London store at Wimbledon. These tension fabric light boxes were supplied to a shopfitting company who were already refurbishing the store but W&Co’s LumiTex tension fabric light boxes were specified by CARAT* to ensure the Wimbledon store’s displays was the best quality and consistent with the others completed by W&Co.
As well as being bright, evenly lit and frameless, CARAT* wanted to be able to easily update and change the graphics in the retail light boxes which the LumiTex fabric face light box offered.
Shortly after all the central London stores renovations were completed, CARAT* ordered winter sale graphics to promote seasonal reductions after Christmas.
Most recently CARAT* has opened a brand new store in Westfield London Shopping Centre in White City. With a modern all-glass storefront, CARAT* utilised the precious window space by hanging stunning double sided tension fabric light boxes either side of the door above jewellery cabinets. Once inside the store customers are greeted by a further three large format wall mounted fabric faced retail display lightboxes featuring beautiful campaign images of jewellery. The light boxes in store were fitted into recesses so that they are fully flush with the walls behind the jewellery counters.
W&Co is looking forward to helping CARAT* London on its mission to stay beautiful, affordable and relevant as they continue to modernise further shops and concessions in London and around the UK.
Feedback from the Head of Operations at CARAT* said, “We have worked with W&Co on various shop fit projects over the years; installation of light boxes and then the repeated replacements of the fabrics. We are a small business and W&Co is always very knowledgeable and patient with us, couldn’t do any more to help. Delivery always on time as promised. We regularly receive great feedback on the light boxes in our stores and highly recommend W&Co.”
