Boots POS Lightboxes
Digital Photo Counter Menu Lightboxes are Developed for Boots
Innovative hanging Point of Sale (POS) lightboxes were designed and developed in a menu system style for Boots The Chemists. The lightboxes were installed at Boots outlets including their flagship stores at Sedley Place, London’s Oxford Street and Glasgow Fort.
Utilising three A1 ultra thin light boxes in series and in landscape format, to create menu board style displays, on a cable hanging system to illuminate the backlit graphics highlighting the range of high quality digital and traditional processing services that Boots offer to their customers. W&Co’s ultra slim lightboxes were selected due to their robust build, easy graphic change, sleek aesthetics with higher brightness and more even illumination than alternatives.
POS lightboxes have been proven to catch the customer’s eye and so it was believed that this should make it quicker and easier for the customer to choose the service they require before reaching the counter and reduce queuing times. The menu light box system was tilted at a 10° angle for easy viewing for the customer and was suspended on a specially developed steel cable system.
Subsequent market research showed that installing the POS lightboxes resulted in customers being dealt with 3-4 times quicker at the counters than when only non-illuminated graphics were in place.
Format Manager, Lisa Ellis commented, “The light box system looks very modern, is a beacon for the photo department and is really driving customer awareness of the breadth of processing services that Boots offers.”
Slimline lightboxes have also been used at other Boots stores around the UK and Europe, with lots of positive feedback.
