British Airways lightbox signage flies high!

British Airways required bespoke lightbox signage for their new Customer Service Desk at the North Terminal of Gatwick Airport. It needed to stand out as much as possible to attract the attention of travellers flying with the UK’s flag carrier airline.

The Customer Service Desk is over 9 metres in length and so a super wide bespoke illuminated sign needed to be produced. It also required to be suspended 4 metres up from floor level so had to be robust and self supporting to ensure the utmost safety.

Our Flex Face Light Box was deemed the perfect lightbox signage system for such a large requirement due to its strong and durable nature. It has bright and even edge-to-edge illumination so getting noticed is not a problem.

To enhance the aesthetics and increase the eye catching nature of the lightbox signage, specially designed banner graphics were printed with Selective Illumination to make the British Airways logo and Customer Service lettering really stand out.

Considering its very large size, the flex face lightbox sign has a mere 135mm deep aluminium profile which makes up the back box so relatively slim. The rear of the unit has extra reinforcement with lightweight, but rigid and strong ACM panels as the light box was being hung and needed to support its own weight. Despite its large size it was relatively lightweight because the Flex Face light box sign has banner graphics stretched over its face which weighs far less than an acrylic or metal fascia would have done.

BA were extremely pleased with the finished result and impressed with the look of their new customer service desk and how well the selective illumination worked.
