Illuminated car showroom displays help drive sales
Ford introduced orange to their brand colours and wanted to bring the bright colour into car showrooms across the UK and Europe with the use of cleverly positioned illuminated car showroom displays and graphic panels.
For this they decided upon freestanding, double-sided, illuminated totems, which they called light columns, that would hold branded backlit prints on both sides to maximise the viewable area and enhance the colour and brand awareness.
The Apache illuminated totem display was selected by Ford, above light columns from other suppliers, because of its high quality, robust construction, better stability and superior light distribution. Small modifications were made to the appearance, including a thicker top panel and a heavier weighted base purely for their preference for it to look strong and solid.
Thereafter, prototypes were approved and the manufacturing of the illuminated car showroom displays began for the roll-out across the whole of the UK and many European countries. Two display totems with pre-fitted backlit graphics, were sent to individual car showrooms along with an orange acrylic panel with printed Ford logos, also supplied by W&Co, which were used to surround the TV screens in the car showrooms.
The whole project ran extremely well and the client was very happy with W&Co’s service and the effect of the displays on the car showrooms.
Ford’s satisfaction with the project is highlighted by the positive remarks from the Retail Design Manager who stated,“…we were delighted with the product and service that you offered us.” He further commented that W&Co,“…has at all times been most help and cooperative on a ‘personal’ [and] customer service level.”
